ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES
December 13, 2005
1. ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.
Committee members present: Mr. Joel Gewirtz, Ms. Irene Horowitz, Ms. Coral Aiken-Miller, Ms. Rose Ann Patterson, Ms. Carole Roberts, and Dr. William Tietze. Ms. Bonnie Woodward was absent.
City staff present: Ms. Laura Litzan, Ms. Carol Glassman, Ms. Lois Gunter.
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION by Ms. Irene Horowitz to approve the Agenda. Second by Dr. Tietze. Motion carried 6-0.

3. APPROVAL OF November 8, 2005 MINUTES
MOTION by Ms. Irene Horowitz to approve the November 8, 2005 Minutes Second by Mr. Joel Gewirtz. Motion carried 6-0.
4. BUSINESS
A) Preparation for Presentation of Goals and Objectives to City Council.
Carol Glassman plans to forward to Committee members a refined document for use at the Tuesday, January 3, 2006 City Council meeting.
It was agreed that all the documents being developed are works-in- progress and will be cultivated over time. The document will be presented to the City Council as a “living” document.
Agreement was reached that Policies already developed addresses accepting donations and acquisitions.
The Committee agreed to attempt to look at an individual goal each meeting in an effort to accomplish goals that can be reported in the Goals and Objectives summary to the City Council at the end of next year.
B) Coordination of one Committee Member With Beautification and Parks and Recreation Committees.
Laura Litzan presented Dana Souza’s request that one Arts Advisory Committee member work with the Beautification Committee and the Parks and Recreation Committee so that all three committees can coordinate efforts for future projects.
Ms. Patterson will contact Dana and attempt to get a list of priorities for the Parks after the first of the year.

The meeting adjourned at 9:10 a.m. The next Arts Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in the lower level conference room at City Hall.
