The City of Marco Island's Environmental Services is responsible for:
- Water Quality Monitoring
- Protected Species Monitoring (Burrowing Owls - see PDF map, Gopher Tortoises, Sea Turtles, Eagles, etc.)
- Vegetation Trimming/Removal Permit review
- Beach Vendor Permit review
- Vehicles on the Beach permit review
- Environmental Impact Statement review
- Rip Rap Permit review
- City of Marco Island Beach Advisory Committee - staff liaison
- Collier County Coastal Advisory Committee - staff liaison
- Liaison with COE, FDEP, FWCC, DOH, RBNEER, Collier County Pollution Control, Collier County Natural Resources
- Environmental Outreach - presentations/talks to community groups, students, etc.
