MINUTES
City Council Special-Called Meeting – May 5, 2004 – 4:00 p.m.
Chairwoman DiSciullo called the meeting to order and presided.
ROLL CALL
All Present, except Councilwoman Patterson who was absent. (Councilwoman Kelber arrived at 5:00 p.m.)

BUSINESS
(A) Appointment to Coastal Advisory Committee.
This item was deferred to the meeting of May 17, 2004.
(B) Update to Utility Master Plan.
Mr. John Darmody of MWH Americas, Inc. provided Council with information on the deterioration of the Island's RO wells, the need for new ASR wells and water treatment plant, and options for sewer collection systems. Mr. Ben Emerson of MWH Americas. Inc. presented project delivery options.
MOTION by Councilman Minozzi to APPROVE THREE NEW ASR WELLS AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH THEIR CONSTRUCTION. Second by Councilman Arceri. Motion carried 6-0.
MOTION by Councilman Arceri to APPROVE (IN PRINCIPAL) THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW 9.0 MGD WATER TREATMENT PLANT AT MARCO LAKES, AND MAKE A DECISION ON THE PROJECT DELIVERY OPTION AT THE JUNE 7, 2004 COUNCIL MEETING. Second by Councilman Minozzi. Motion carried 6-0.
MOTION by Councilman Arceri to SCHEDULE A SPECIAL-CALLED MEETING ON JUNE 7, 2004 AT 5:00 P.M. FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON SEWER SYSTEM OPTIONS UNDER COUNCIL CONSIDERATION. Second by Councilman Minozzi. Motion carried 6-0.
