Chairman Minozzi called the meeting to order and presided.

BUSINESS
The Honorable Burt Saunders, Senator for the State of Florida, District 37, reviewed for Council proposed property tax reforms that will be considered by the Florida Legislature, and responded to questions from City Council and the Public. Senator Saunders agreed that inasmuch as the City of Marco Island already has a “spending cap” in place, and has consistently reduced its millage for the last five years, he would support an exemption for the City from any legislation to reduce or limit taxes.

There being no further business to come before City Council, the meeting adjourned at 3:25 p.m.
