BUSINESS
(A) DISCUSSION – Financing Options for Septic Tank Replacement Program (STRP).
Editorial History: Chairwoman DiSciullo requested a workshop with City Council to discuss the possibility of removing the Sewer Assessment Capacity Charge from the Septic Tank Replacement Program (STRP).
Following a presentation by City Manager Bill Moss, and discussion concerning the ramifications of eliminating all or part of the $4,610 Sewer Assessment Capacity Charge from the STRP, the consensus of Council was to:
· Reduce the Sewer Assessment Capacity Charge from $4,620 to $2,070, pending verification of the data provided.
· Increase the water and sewer rate base an appropriate amount to offset the reduction in the Sewer Assessment Capacity Charge.
· Consider adoption of the revised Sewer Assessment Capacity Charge following a public hearing.
· Hold the required public hearing on the water and sewer rate increase.
