Sidewalks
Q: What is the clearance needed for trees over sidewalks?
A: Trees over sidewalks need to have a 7.5 foot clearance. (City Ordinance 98-19)
Q: Am I responsible for sidewalk maintenance?
A: Property owners are responsible to maintain sidewalks and right-of-ways free of grass or weeds. Property owners shall control the overgrowth of bushes that may impede or delay public access to the sidewalk. (City Ordinance 98-19)
Trash Pickup
Q: What days are designated for trash pick up and who is in charge?
A: Monday and Thursdays are trash pick up and Waste Management (Collier County) is the vendor and can be reached at 649-2212.
Receptacles
Q: When should I place my receptacles outside?
A: You may place your receptacles outside after 6:00 p.m. the night before pickup and you must have them removed by 7:00 p.m. the day of pickup.
Bulk Trash
Q: What days are recycled and/or bulk items picked up?
A: Recyclables are picked up on Thursdays only.
Q: If I have a bulk pickup (couch, refrigerator, yard waste, etc.) who do I call?

Trailer
Q: Can I park my trailer in my driveway/yard?
A: You may park your trailer (boat/sea doo/utility) for 8 hours for the purpose of loading, unloading or cleaning. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Q: Is there any place I can park my trailer on my property?
A: You may park your trailer (boat/sea doo/utility) on your property for permanent parking if parked within the confines of a fully enclosed structure that the trailer can not be seen from any abutting property, public road way or waterway. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Recreational Vehicles
Q: Can I park my RV in my driveway/property?
A: You may park your RV in the driveway as long as it does not block the sidewalk with a City permit affixed to the vehicle in a conspicuous place. You may obtain a 7-day permit at Marco Island City Hall at no charge. You are allowed 28 days per calendar year for RV parking, however not consecutive. NOTE: All applications are required to have a City authorized signature to be effective. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Q: Can you live in an RV parked at your home?
A: No sleeping or living activities are allowed within the vehicle while parked. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Garage/Yard Sales
Q: How many times a year can I have a garage/yard sale?
A: You are allowed 1 garage/yard sale per calendar year. You can obtain a 2-day permit at City Hall. NOTE: All applications are required to have a City authorized signature to be effective. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Q: Are there any restrictions to garage/yard sale signs?
A: One sign is permitted on property where the actual garage sale is taking place. No sign shall be placed in any public right-of-way or on private property. (City Ordinance 01-15)
Vehicle
Q: Is there a permit required to sell my vehicle?
A: One (1) 14-day permit per property per calendar year may be issued to display a vehicle “For Sale” sign affixed to the window . Permits shall only be issued to the title-holder of the vehicle who shall either be the owner of the subject property, or able to produce an affidavit of permission from the property owner. Q: What if my vehicle has expired tags?
A: Any vehicle offered for sale must have a valid license plate and be parked on the driveway or an impervious surface intended for vehicle parking. The permit must be clearly affixed to the window. (City Ordinance 01-15)

For Sale
