City of Marco Island - Rental Housing Advisory Committee

On October 1, 2007 the City Council directed staff to review existing code requirements for the regulation of vacation rental properties in the City of Marco Island. Following discussion, a majority of City Council agreed to establish an ad-hoc committee consisting of a representative from the Board of Realtors, a representative from the Chamber of Commerce, a rental agent, and four members of the general publi. The City's Police Chief Roger Reinke, Code Compliance Officer Eric Wardle, and Community Development Director Steve Olmsted serve as support members. Councilor Keister is a non-voting member representing City Council and serves as the Chairman. On October 15, 2007 Council agreed to appoint seven (7) citizens, with each Councilor nominating one committee member.
