City of Marco Island - Parks and Recreation Dept. Racquet Center

The Marco Island Racquet Center offers the community a publicly owned facility with two hard tennis courts, 6 clay tennis courts and 2 indoor racquetball courts. Players may purchase an Annual Pass or pay hourly court fees if a reservation is desired. Free public play is allowed provided no court reservations are pending. For additional information please call Racquet Center staff at 394-5454. The pro shop is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 8:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m.

Our facility offers tennis lessons from USTA pros. Clinics and private lessons are available. Wayne Clark serves as head pro and can be reached at 394-5454.

Fall Juniors Programs

October 8th - November 16th

This is a great introduction to the sport of a lifetime. We will concentrate on basic stroke production along with introducing games that provide a fun environment for players to improve their skills and understanding of the sport.

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays

Times: 4:00 - 4:45 p.m.

Cost: $8/day or $85/6wk session resident

$10/day non resident

This group is designed for the beginning player. We will focus on stroke production and games and will introduce rules and scoring.

Dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays

Times: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Cost: $10/day or $100/6wk session resident

$12/day non resident

This level is designed for players beginning to sustain rallies and play points. Footwork and strokes are emphasized along with basic strategy and rules of the game.

The Blue Division is designed as a training ground for players able to compete in tournaments. Conditioning along with strategical game planning are combined to produce competitive players.

Flighted Play for Men, Women & Mixed Doubles

Weekly sign-up for all flighted play. Scores will be kept with batting averages. Cost of 1 day session includes 1 can of balls per court. Anyone with a batting average .300 and below will be moved to a lower level. Anyone with a .700 batting average or above will be moved to a higher flight.

Pro League - new program fall 07

Weekly sign-up with a 7 person per session maximum. Two courts will be reserved. One court will be for play, the second for drilling with the pro. Players will rotate between courts during the session.

This time is set aside for anyone looking to pick up a racquetball game without needing a partner. Just show up and play!

Never heard of Wallyball? It is just like volleyball, except that you play in the air conditioned comfort of the Racquet Center's racquetball court. Come give it a try and bounce off the walls with us.
