Using the new Mechnical Permit Application (Beta)
This new Mechanical Permit Application is designed to be filled out using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 6, minimum. This document is in the testing process. Please contact me at lloewer@cityofmarcoisland.com with questions or comments.
Acrobat and Adobe Reader 6.0 users must install the Acrobat – Reader 6.0.2 update. The update can be downloaded from the Adobe Downloads site,
Acrobat and Adobe Reader 7.0 may not need updates at this time but may need updates as they come available. You can check for updates at the Adobe Download site at, http://www.adobe.com/downloads/main.html
It is recommended that you save all open documents and quit out of all applications before installing applications or updates then restart your computer before downloading and opening the Mechanical Application Form.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is normally considered a safe and stable application for all computers and operating systems, but the City of Marco Island recommends that you read the terms of use when installing the Adobe Acrobat Software. The City of Marco Island assumes no responsibility for loss of files or computer damage that may be caused by use of Adobe Acrobat Software or files created with Adobe Acrobat Software.

When you first open the document, I recommend filling in only the fields that will not change, such as the contractor information and the qualifiers name that is in the notary area. Before filling in anything else, save the document using “save as” and save it in a place you’ll be able to find, such as the desktop. When you re-open the document those fields will be already filled in. When you use the document you can fill it in and print it out. When you close the document you can choose to “save as” and name the file appropriately per the project, or choose not to save and the document will remain ready for your next use.
