ADVISEMENT

  • Sign up for eNotifications on www.cityofmarcoisland.com, go to the "How do I?" section in the main menu and choose "Subscribe to email blast" from the "Receive Alerts and Notifications" section.
  • Does your home pool have a barrier? Take a look at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's, Publication 362 regarding Safety Barrier Guidelines for Home Pools [PDF]. Because the screen enclosure and fence options for pool barriers require a licensed contractor, a permit, and an inspection, residents should read this before hiring a contractor.
  • Florida Lien Law - Always file a Notice of Commencement before beginning a new construction or remodeling project. The local authority that issues building permits is required to provide the Notice of Commencement Form. You must record the form with the Clerk of the Circuit Court in the county where the property being improved is located. Also post a certified copy at the job site. For more information download the Florida Lien Law Pamphlet from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
