City of Marco Island Press Release 21-03 / 01-14-21

The City of Marco Island has received many emails and phone calls from residents with questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. The City is working with our community partners including the Department of Health (DOH-Collier), Collier County Emergency Management, Naples Community Hospital (NCH), and many others to receive the most up-to-date information regarding both COVID-19 testing and COVID-19 vaccinations. The City, however, is not involved in the receiving or distribution of the vaccine. The number of vaccines any City, County, or healthcare agency receives is determined by Governor DeSantis.

As the City receives information from the State or DOH-Collier, we post this information on our website and on our social media outlets. We recognize that online appointments are filling up within minutes and we know this is frustrating for many of our residents. We have also heard from many residents that making an appointment online is not an ideal process. Currently, DOH-Collier is developing other avenues for residents to make appointments.

There are three organizations in our area currently providing vaccinations: DOH-Collier, NCH, and Publix. Please visit their websites for vaccination schedules. These schedules are updated each week. Below are links to the appointment system for these three organizations. Also visit our City website for updated COVID-19 case numbers, testing locations, and vaccine information.
