City Manager

City Manager

The City of Marco Island operates under a council-manager form of government, with the City Council serving as the legislative and policy-making body of the City. The City Council appoints a City Manager to serve as the chief administrative manager of the city. As the city’s Chief Administrative Officer the City Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of all operations of city government. The Manager prepares a budget for the Council's consideration; recruits, hires and supervises the government staff; serves as the Council's chief advisor' and carries out the Council's policies. Council members and citizens count on the manager to provide complete and objective information, pros and cons of alternatives, and long-term consequences. The Charter requires the manager to reside within the city limits which ensures that he/she is a residential member of the community.

Vision

To be responsible to City Council for the administration of all City affairs by providing sound policy recommendations, leadership and management of all departmental activities, and to strive for excellence in the provision of City services at a reasonable cost with an organization committed to good customer service for the citizens we serve.
