30 Day Warning Period For Signage Enforcement

Beginning Friday, July 1, 2022, Marco Island Police Department Community Service Officers will be doing business checks. These checks verify that Marco Island businesses comply with the City of Marco Island signage under Marco Municipal Code 30-529.

Sign regulations are intended to encourage the effective use of signs and maintain and enhance the beauty and aesthetic environment of the island. Encouraging proper sign usage lessens the visual clutter that may otherwise be caused by the proliferation, improper placement, illumination, animation, and excessive height of signs. During this 30-day period, we ask business owners to familiarize themselves with Marco Municipal Code 30-529 to verify their signage compliance.

If you would like assistance in determining proper signage, please contact our Code Department at 239-389-5060. Business owners not in compliance after this 30-day grace period will begin receiving notices of violation on Friday, July 1, 2022. Violations not corrected are subject to a fine
