Records Division

The Records Division is responsible for maintaining all records relating to police activities on Marco Island.  This recordkeeping requirement encompasses accident reports, crime reports, and information involved with the management of the police department. All records are disseminated in accordance with Florida State Statute Chapter 119 and the Freedom of Information Act. 

Data regarding police activities is gathered and compiled for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Transmission to federal, state, and county law enforcement agencies that interface with the Marco Island Police Department
  • Responding to public records requests received by the City of Marco Island for police activities after redacting information required to be kept confidential by current statutes
  • Providing the public with reporting they may require in association with accidents or crimes where information is needed for legal or insurance purposes

Records Requests: 

  • Records requests can be made in person, over the phone or via email. 
    • In person requests can be made at the Marco Island Police Department at 51 Bald Eagle Dr., Marco Island, FL 34145.

The Records Division office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  The office is closed for all holidays observed by the City of Marco Island.

Crash Reports: 

In accordance with Florida State Statute Chapter 316.066, a sworn statement is required to be completed for all parties requesting an accident report. Additionally, the report can only be released to the individual involved in the accident for the first 60 days after the accident. 

Presentation of a form of identification such as a drivers license with picture ID and completion of the sworn statement will be required in order to receive the report.
