The City of Marco Island will be replacing the watermain in the Old Marco area beginning September 2, 2025. Currently, the North Marco area is served by a combination of 4-inch and 8-inch asbestos cement water pipe, and 10-inch PVC water pipe. These pipes are nearing the end of their useful life and need replacement. This project consists of replacing the existing asbestos cement water pipe along Bald Eagle Drive from Tampa Place to Palm Street, and increasing the pipe size for a 4-inch to 10-inch water pipe from Tampa Place to Lee Ave. The project will also create a main water loop that will improve the fire protection flow.
There will be intermittent lane closures on Blad Eagle Drive Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 5:00pm. Drivers should drive with caution and expect delays. The project will be completed by December, weather permitting. The alleyway (Kerr Ct.) will also experience temporary closures during this project. The City will work with businesses and residents to minimize the impact on garbage pick up and mail delivery. For questions about the project, please call Water and Sewer Project Manager, Heather Smith at 239-389-3930.
