Construction has begun on a new Vietnam War Memorial at Veterans’ Community Park. The cost of the memorial is approximately $600,00 and all funds have been raised by the American Legion Post 404. In March 2024 the City Council approved building a memorial in the public park to recognize Vietnam War veterans. In October 2025, the City Council approved the location and size of the monument, including lighting, landscaping, and seating areas around the memorial site.
The base, which is currently under construction, will be completed in late February. The statues themselves will be made of bronze and will be installed in June. A formal unveiling and ceremony will take place on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2026.
