June 2, 2026 - The City of Marco Island is launching a six-month pilot program to publish legal notices on the Collier County website: notices.collierclerk.com.
Under Florida Statute 50.0311, municipalities have the option to publish legal notices on a county-operated website as an alternative to the traditional newspaper publication process. The pilot program is intended to evaluate the effectiveness, accessibility, and efficiency of digital legal noticing for the community.
During the pilot period, the City will continue its current practice of publishing all required legal notices in its newspaper of record. This dual-posting approach is intended to ensure full transparency and uninterrupted public access to important information while the City evaluates the potential benefits of operating through the County’s online noticing platform.
In addition to online access, the County website service allows residents to request legal notices by email or first-class mail, fulfilling statutory noticing requirements and providing additional options for receiving public information.
The City encourages residents to use the online platform and provide feedback regarding their experience to the City Clerk at 239-389-5000 or by email at jtaylor@cityofmarcoisland.com.
