Press Release (07-31-2020) 044

The City of Marco Island staff is closely monitoring the developments of Hurricane Isaias.  Heavy rains and wind associated with Isaias may begin to affect south Florida late Friday night.  While this storm is not expected to impact Marco Island directly, preparations to protect property should be completed as the storm track can change with little notice.  Hurricane conditions along portions of South Florida are expected on Saturday.  Marco Island may experience increased rainfall which could cause roads to flood.  Do not drive on flooded roads or on any roads with more than six inches of water.  Please be patient and wait for the water to drain before traversing city streets.

While City Hall will be closed over the weekend, there are several staff members on-call to respond to emergencies and citizen concerns.  For law enforcement or code related issues that are non-emergency call 239-389-5050.  If you need to report any issues concerning debris, traffic lights or storm drains, call 239-825-0571.  For water or sewer issues, call 239-394-3168.  Visit the Marco Island City website for helpful information on hurricane preparedness.  https://www.cityofmarcoisland.com/emergency/page/hurricanepreparedness
