Vision

To advise the City Manager in the administration, development, and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets, to offer technical support within the City of Marco Island government structure, to assist the general public and citizen groups with information requests and to make recommendations to City Council, City Manager and Advisory Committees on all financial and budgetary policies.

 

The City's Finance Department advises the City Manager in the administration, development, and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets. Additionally offers technical support within the City of Marco Island government structure, to assist the general public and citizen groups with information requests and to make recommendations to City Council, City Manager, and Advisory Committees on all financial and budgetary policies.

 

The Finance Department is the central fiscal control and accounting agency, with the Director of Finance serving as Chief Financial Officer for the City of Marco Island. The Finance Department deals with daily finance and accounting activities including purchasing and accounts payables, payroll, preparation of operating and capital budgets, preparation of monthly financial reports, investment and debt management, assessment administration, and cash-flow management. The Finance Department provides financial information to the public, state agencies, grantors, auditors, City Council, and the City’s management staff.

Water and sewer utility bills are handled by the Customer Service Division of the Finance Department.
