Companion Meters

The City of Marco Island is now offering Companion Meters for your watering needs. This system offers multiple advantages that you can utilize and run your irrigation, dock water and pool through. It could potentially offer you some savings on your sewer bill if you decide to take advantage of this program.

The following steps are necessary:

1. Get a building permit from City Hall [50 Bald Eagle Drive] 
2. From a plumber or other professional source verification/certification you have a working backflow preventer installed on your property [usually homes built after 1992 have them] 
   • *if you do not, you will need one installed and working
3. Come into City Hall to Utilities Customer Service and get your companion meter - there is a fee depending upon the size of the meter needed.
4. Have the meter installed on your property - - please use the diagrams attached to get a quote for the installation.
