BID OPENING: ITB 2023-035 Renewal of Spray Park at Frank E. Mackle Park

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PLEASE REFER TO PROJECT PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR DETAILED REQUIREMENTS.

The City of Marco Island is soliciting bids from qualified spray park equipment and construction CONTRACTOR (contractor shall be a state licensed with a commercial pool construction license) to renovate the spray parks at the Frank E. Mackle Park (henceforth, Mackle Park), at 1361 Andalusia Terrace, Marco Island, FL 34145. The CONTRACTOR shall also have a wealth of experience in planning, permitting, and renovation of spray park and aquatic recreational facilities.

The selected CONTRACTOR will be responsible for renovating the systems, structures, and components (SSC) as it is specified in the scope of work below. The spray park original as-built drawings show the features, materials, dimensions, operating parameters, and connection of all the spray park features. The renovation shall include the use of modern and new SSCs that will contribute to improving the operations and maintenance of the facility, i.e., the spray park shall be fully automated with minimum requirements for maintenance. 

The CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment, shipment, transportation, and perform all operations necessary for the completion of work as specified in the below scope of work and the as-built drawings. This includes but is not limited to obtaining all necessary permits, replacing the concrete splash pad surface with a poured-in-place more resilient surface, dismantling, excavating, and required backfilling, waste management and its disposal, hardware, fittings, nozzles, piping, wiring, and accessories, controllers, water management systems (i.e., water chemical treatment, filtration, pumping, and distribution), and finishes as required, in accordance with the as-built drawings, specifications and directions of the City’ PM. The CONTRACTOR shall also train designated City’s Fleet & Facilities department designated maintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of the spray park systems.

Respondent is hereby notified that Section 287.05701, Florida Statutes, requires that the District may not request documentation of or consider a vendor's social, political, or ideological interests when determining if the vendor is a responsible vendor.
