West Winterberry Bridge Re-Opens Ahead of Schedule

The West Winterberry Bridge, which temporarily closed on Wednesday for repairs that were expected to last into the weekend, reopened today after work crews finished the job ahead of schedule. The reopening of the bridge means that vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians may cross without restrictions or detours. Restrictions on boat traffic under the bridge have also been lifted.

The West Winterberry Bridge repair project was originally expected to last from Wednesday, March 15 to Saturday, March 18. However, the contractor, Manhattan Road and Bridge Company, made the project a high priority and completed early. Repairs involved the removal and replacement of the post-tensioning tendons on the bridge.
