Fire Station 50

Following damages from Hurricane Irma in 2017, the City Council approved construction of a new Fire Station Headquarters to improve the City's resiliency to tropical cyclone threats and to ensure continuous operation of emergency services and government operations to our community throughout any emergency.

Located at 1280 San Marco Rd. in Marco Island, Fire Station 50 serves as the City's Emergency Operations Center and features a hardened “safe room” with standalone power and utilities that can remain operable for five days. The building itself is designed to withstand a Category 5 hurricane and is raised two feet above base flood elevation. The complex houses the city’s primary data and information technology center.

The 24,000-square-foot complex features three 90-foot, drive-through apparatus bays for fire trucks and ambulances, as well as 13 individual bunk rooms for firefighters and paramedics, administrative offices and a community training room. An adjacent three-story training tower will serve as a functional training center for firefighters. The fire station also includes a fuel depot.

The City of Marco Island Fire Station 50 was dedicated on April 28, 2023.

Fire Station 50 was designed by BSSW Architects and constructed by Manhattan Construction.
