Operations Division

Ops

The City of Marco Island Fire Rescue Operations Division is staffed by 36 professional and dedicated men and women who serve the residents and visitors to the City of Marco Island. The Operations Division is led by Deputy Chief Matt Marshall.

All members are cross trained as Firefighters/Paramedics or EMT's and provide all types of emergency response for fire suppression, rescue incidents, medical emergencies, marine emergencies, and disaster incidents. In addition to the emergency response incidents, Fire Rescue also responds to a variety of non-emergency and community service calls.

The Operations Division responds to an average of 4,300 calls for service each year.

The Operations Division staffs three Advanced Life Support (ALS) fire suppression companies (2-engine companies & 1-ladder company) led by a Battalion Chief, who respond out of two fire stations each day. The 36 personnel are divided across three shifts that work 48 hours on shift, and 96 hours off, an average of 52 hours per week.

Operations Division personnel are also active on a day-to-day basis conducting pre-incident fire plans, maintaining the apparatus and the fire stations, and maintaining and enhancing their skills through a continuous Fire and EMS training program.

The Operations Division supports the public education effort by presenting programs in the field and through attendance at many community functions each year.
