Ad Hoc Business Development and Re-Development Advisory Committee

On December 4, 2023, the City Council of the City of Marco Island formed the Ad Hoc Business Development And Re-Development Advisory Committee (Resolution 23-63)

The purpose of this committee is to identify what the City does, or requires, that negatively affects one’s ability to develop or redevelop property or open or operate a business.

This may include identifying: 

  • specific building codes that negatively affect one's ability to develop or redevelop property or open or operate a business; 
  • specific sections of the Land Development Code that negatively affects one's ability to develop or redevelop property or open or operate a business;
  • specific zoning issues  that negatively affects one's ability to develop or redevelop property or open or operate a business;
  • specific issues related to traffic and parking that negatively affect one's ability to develop or redevelop property, or open or operate a business. 

The Ad Hoc Business Development and Re-Development Advisory Committee consists of seven (7) members chosen by the City Council whose items will be established in accordance with of the Code of Ordinances.

Meetings will be held the third Wednesday each month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Dr. Fay and Bedford Biles Community Room, 51 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island, Florida. 

 

The Ad Hoc Business Development and Re-development Advisory Committee will sunset upon completion of the goals identified by the Committee or April 15, 2025, whichever comes first.
